7th GRADE CLASS 2010-2011
Art (Lisa Thomas)- Your student will study famous artists and their works of art. They will copy that artists technique in a new project or mimic one of their famous pieces of work. Experience an entire painting process from sketch to a finished painting. Seasonal projects may be used throughout the year. A recycled art project will be due late second semester, with very clear guidelines and expectations explained in class. Most projects are finished in class, but occasional homework will be assigned as needed.
(supplies: $10 art fee to be paid at Parent Meeting; composition notebook, pocket folder, 4 sharpened pencils.)

Math (Lanette Stewart)- This class will be studying a mixture of pre-algebra. We will start with problems with fractions as a review and then build up to solving a variety of equations. If time permits towards the end of the school year, we will also work on some graphing problems.
(supplies: $5 copy fee, pencils, notebook paper, pocket folder, NO pens or calculators)
Science (Lanette Stewart)- This year, we will discuss Archeology, Geology and the Fossil Record. Material and experiments will be taken from the Apologia General Science text. (Book not necessary for the class.)
(supplies: $5 supply fee, any notebook, pencil or pen, a few colored pencils)
Writing (Debbie Hopper) - History based writing lessons in structure, style, vocabulary and grammar.
(supplies: $5 copy fee to be paid at Parent Meeting, folder for work, pen, paper, highlighter)
Report cards will be given for each semester for grades 3-12. Students are assigned grades based on class work, homework, class participation and tests. Students enrolling in 7th grade classes must attend for the entire day.
